How to travel cheap? Hmm… traveling cheap is something many people believe to be impossible but it doesn’t have to be! Im going to tell you some ways to help you travel on the CHEAP and I’m not talking about some of the posts I’ve read before that promise to tell you how to travel cheap but always end up telling you something you already know like you need to save money or something like that. So I’ve compiled a small lists of ways to help you find some great deals so that you can be on that trip of a lifetime in no time!

1.)  Check out WOW Air

I don’t feel like enough people know about this one and it’s pretty cool. https://wowair.us/ is a really low budget airline that is rising in popularity because of its extremely low cost airline tickets to Iceland and Europe for instance you cold fly from Miami to London for $149 per person! how insane is that?! now you’re probably skeptical and that’s understandable. You see the reason why they are so cheap is because they pretty much strip the plane of all the luxury so that you can fly for cheap.

2.) Get miles for spending money

This isn’t one of the most useful tip but it is still very practical for that select few. The trick is to sign up for credit cards that give you travel miles when you use them and then when you want to go somewhere you redeem them. The point system and stipulations associated with them vary so you need to do your research before you sign up.

3.) Don’t plan ahead for a hotel stay

This one is a really good idea if you are willing to wait until the last minute because sometimes you can get a better rate if you show up without already being booked.  This way you get to kind of scope out the hotel before you book a stay which is definitely better that staying in a hotel that looked like a 5 star online but in person is a one. If you’re wanting to travel somewhere that you don’t really expect there to be a lot of people then this SHOULD work for you but please don’t try to go to a packed city and expect to get a last minute room.

4.) Travel to cheap countries

Unless you have your heart set on a specific destination maybe try looking at countries that are dirt cheap to travel to like Cambodia where you can get by with spending about $10-$12 a day! And we’re not talking about spending the night in a box either. The extremely low cost of living in Cambodia makes it a very cheap travel destination some others include: Vietnam, India, Bolivia, and Sri Lanka

5.) The most important tip!

So I know that I said that I wasn’t going to mention anything about saving money, however probably the best tip I can give you on how to travel no matter how much money you make is to PRIORITIZE. I meant it when I said no matter how much you make because if what you really want to travel YOU CAN! YES YOU! You might have to make some sacrifices on some things that you want for instance drop your cable bill and sign up for netflix or something like that and put that money in your vacation money jar. Do that with a couple of your monthly expenses and you’ll be off on your dream vacation in no time.
